Resource Management Planner - Fixed Term

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a graduate to work in our small but busy planning team on a fixed term basis.

This is a real opportunity to gain and grow valuable experience in the planning and policy field. You will be involved in planning checks on building consents and processing resource consents as well as assisting customers with planning inquiries. You will also be involved with policy projects that relate across the organisation business including research, developing policy and community engagement.

Most important is your attitude and what you can bring to the team. If you are energetic and have a strong interest in environmental issues, have a relevant qualification have outstanding communication skills (written and oral) and excellent time management skills, this could be the job for you.

Working in a small council like the Hurunui offers you breadth of experience where you will be directly exposed to a wider variety of tasks than you would in a larger organisation or council. We are relaxed, helpful and friendly with advanced technology and we encourage and support individual continued learning and development. You will be based in Amberley - no more traffic when commuting to and from work, no parking hassles, and only 40 minutes from Christchurch. This position is a full time fixed term position for one year to assist with an increase in workload.
