Nestled amidst the serene landscapes of the Hurunui district, our council serves a diverse community with pride. From maintaining roads to providing essential amenities, we're dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all residents. Our 3 Waters' Team ensure the continuous, efficient, and compliant operation of water and wastewater electrical systems, and your new role as our Utilities Officer - Electrical and Automation, will play a key part in that team.

Your Role:

You will play a key role in enhancing the reliability and functionality of our communications, alarming, and SCADA network. Your days will be diverse, ranging from developing strategies for operational expansion and resilience, executing maintenance routines, and assisting in electrical design and commissioning of new plants. You'll identify areas for improvement, implement electrical changes, and ensure compliance with regulations and standards. Managing contractors, providing reports, and offering support during emergencies are also part of your responsibilities.

Your expertise in maintaining industrial plants, along with current EWRB registration, fault-finding skills, and proficiency in PLC programming and SCADA systems, are what will truly set you up for success in your role. A strong work ethic, customer professionalism, and a full driver's license round out the qualities we're looking for.
