About the Role | Mō Te Tūranga

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented GIS Officer to support our dedicated GIS Specialist. This junior-level role puts you right at the heart of our day-to-day GIS operations across both Hurunui and Kaikōura District Councils, where you'll help deliver smart spatial solutions that make a real impact in our communities.

About You | Mōu

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have experience in GIS or a relevant tertiary qualification
  • Understand spatial data and GIS concepts
  • Are familiar with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps, Survey123 (FME a bonus)
  • Know how to create clear, accurate maps using sound cartographic principles
  • Communicate well, work collaboratively, and enjoy helping others use spatial tools
  • Are organised, detail-focused, and eager to learn
