Seasonal Swim and/ or Aquafit Instructors

Season runs from October 2025 till April 2026

The Mainpower Amberley Pool is open typically from October to April. We are looking for swim and/ or aquafit instructors to help us deliver our summer programmes.

We are planning for a bumper season, offering more programmes across all age groups year on year!

Programmes that we offer include;

  • Aquafit
  • School Swim WSFL (water skills for life) programmes
  • Learn to swim lessons - all ages and abilities
  • Children/Youth Squad
  • Adult Squad

There are a variety of programmes that run across weekends and weekdays including morning, our instructors work on individual programmes or across multiple programmes accommodating what our community has asked for along with providing flexibility to our instructors.

About you | Mōu

We are looking for instructors who are, energetic, reliable and confident. If you have these qualities, then WE WANT YOU!

Most important is you are someone who is at home in the water, along with;

  • Having a teaching, coaching, or swimming background (Aquafit or AUSTSWIM Cert. highly desirable)
  • Willingness to learn and teach following our Swim programmes (AUSTSWIM/ Swimming New Zealand founded)
  • Having the ability to think one step ahead and can teach people of all ages

You do not need to be an Olympic swimmer, but you do need to have a passion for ensuring that learners grow to be capable and confident in the water.

Our process includes an interview (week of the 8th August), reference checking along with other probity checks.

We are committed to the protection and wellbeing of children. This role is classified as a Children's Worker role under the Vulnerable Children Act 2014. As such applicants will be required to undergo police vetting process.
