About the role | Mō Te Tūranga

We are looking for a new team member to learn and grow with the support and mentorship from the team. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Completing planning checks for Project Information Memorandum (PIM's)
  • Being Duty Planner, providing advice on a range of planning enquiries
  • Performing general administration and record keeping tasks for the team
  • Collaborating and assisting our experienced planners on policy projects

Being part of a small collaborative team you would have exposure to the full spectrum of how we develop policy, strategy and planning to support our council, a good grounding to kick-start your career!

About you | Mōu

You will either be completing your final year at university or be a recent graduate looking for their first opportunity after graduating.

  • In either of these - Urban Planning, Resource & Environmental Planning /Resource Management, Environmental Science, Geography, Public Policy, Law or related field
  • Competent in the use of PC's and skilled in using common computer software packages such as Microsoft, Word, Power Point and GIS
  • Willingness to learn and can-do attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
